Indications
Metronidazole is a astrong antibiotic primarily used as an antidiarrheal to treat inflammation of the large intestine. Metronidazole is effective against Gardia, Amoeba, Trichomonas and Clostridium. Metronidazole is considered very safe. However, it should not be prescribed to pregnant or young puppies. It may also not be suitable for pets with kidney diseases.
 
Dosage
5-10 days treatment
Gardia: 
Dogs- 15-60mg/kg every 12hours
Cats- 8-10mg/kg
Anaerobic infection: 10-30mg/kg every 6-12 hours.
